The Luke Priddis Foundation was established in 2006, by Luke and Holly Priddis,
following the diagnosis of their third child Cooper, as having Autism Spectrum Disorder.

At the time, Luke and Holly searched for appropriate early intervention services and soon discovered that there was a lack of such services in the Penrith local area.   They also discovered that the services that were available struggled with a lack of funding.

Over the past 2 years, Luke and Holly, together with the Foundation’s board members and volunteers, have worked tirelessly to raise awareness of Autism
and funding for Autism related services in the Penrith local area.

Some examples of the Foundation’s work to date being:-

• the organisation of Autism related educational workshops, for both parents and professionals;
• the provision of funding to Lapstone Preschool Kindergarten, to support them in conducting their Early Development Program (EDP), which supports the inclusion of autistic and/or special needs children into a regular early childhood setting and in their transition to school and;
• the allocation of funds, on an annual basis, to support Autism related community services currently operating within the Western Sydney region.

Whilst there have been a number of very generous individuals and businesses who have donated money to the Foundation over the past 2 years, the majority of money is raised via 4 annual events, which the Foundation conduct in the Penrith area, these being:-

• Ladies Luncheon “Day of Indulgence”, which is held in March or April;
• Golf Day, which is held in May;
• Walk 4 Autism, which is held in August and;
• The “Opening Doors” charity evening, which is held in October.

It is an exciting time for the Foundation, with its new office having recently been open at Level 1, 450-454 High Street, Penrith and plans currently underway to start building the first Luke Priddis Foundation Centre, where local Autistic children will be able to access early intervention services.
